ARTISTS

WORKSHOPS

Our Artist Workshops are designed to inform and inspire both aspiring and professional artists with focused, hands-on practice in the beautiful 100 year-old barn. These small groups become supportive communities that share conversation and progress long after the workshop is done. Prices and seating availability will be based on the individual workshops. Invites will be clear about the skill level needed for each event.

WATERCOLOR FOR BEGINNERS

WITH COCO CONNOLLY

SATURDAY AUGUST 20, 2022

$70 a person

10:00AM – 3:00PM

Join Coco Connolly and explore the basics of painting with watercolor through storytelling, demonstration and hands on exercises. The course will begin with a discussion of the basics of color and different kinds of paper, paint and brushes followed by an introduction to three basic watercolor techniques: gradated wash, wet on wet, and dry-brush. Throughout the course, Coco will focus on the importance of silencing your inner critic and painting with confidence. Class size is limited to 15 participants.

Minneapolis painter Coco Connolly specializes in watercolor. Her works describe her environment, the landscape, and people around her. Her style blends precise line work and impressionistic flowing watercolors. Her landscape studies dwell on the atmospheric qualities of the prairies and farmland in the Midwest, while her botanical works are opportunities for meditative reflection. A lifetime of dance training also fuels her interest in painting people.

"What a peaceful, healing place. I feel so honored to be a part of this day. The art was about the techniques, the nature and beauty, the setting and those around me. It all truly is sacred."
